How we started: In May 2006 we held a dogsports seminar at the hangar at the Sydney Airport and 3 great trainers from Lietash came down from Halifax for the day.

About 20 people came with their dogs (some with more than one) and another 10 or so came without dogs just to watch. We were very happy with the turnout and able to cover the cost of the workshop and also donate $115 to the SPCA.

The interest level was keen and we have now formed our own local club and have dreams of future tournaments on our own turf.

KC - Glenda's Jack Russell Terrier

June, 2008: Our veteran dogs performed a Flyball Demo at the Annual SPCA Dog Jog at Neville Park in Whitney Pier. The weather was fabulous, the turnout was great, and much fun was had by all the dogs and their humans! If you happened to have caught our demonstration (or even if you didn't!), stop by one of our regularly scheduled practices on Saturday mornings, 11 am, at Ukrainian Field on Swan Street in Whitney Pier and check us out!

We now have two fully functioning Flyball Boxes and a variety of Agility Equipment. With the weather clearing up, all the dogs and their humans are back at it and plan to drag race in the summer!

Caper - Art and Tara's Yellow Lab

Dogs must have basic obedience, offleash control, and be friendly with other dogs and humans in order to participate.

We ask that you please Contact us for more information, and not just show up with your dog as it distracts the current dogs in the club while they are training...

If you are not quite ready for sports we encourage you to get out and meet with other dogs and their owners by joining our message boards:

Well socialized and happy dogs are better behaved and a joy to own!
